Strawberry peach smoothie bowl

Some mornings I am just too lazy to make breakfast, but I can’t stand working without the first meal of the day. So, for lazy or rushed mornings, I grab whatever fruit is in the house and quickly put together a smoothie bowl. This one is on the sweet side, I wouldn’t eat it very often, but if you are craving some sweetness, this one is perfect. I wasn’t sure how sweet it would be, so I decided to throw a teaspoon of honey in the mix, but I could have leave it out completely as the smoothie was really sweet from the strawberries (fresh from my grandma’s garden, btw) and banana.

Next time I will add some oats, to add more texture and make it a little bit thicker in consistency, but other than that, it is a perfect way to start the day.

Total Time: 10 minutes

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1/2 peach
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)
  • 1 cup 0% fat greek yogurt or milk of choice
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 peach
  • 2-3 strawberries
  • chopped biscuit/cookie
  • 3-4 pecan nuts

  1. Chop up the banana and peach in big chuncks, add to a blender. Add strawberries, honey (if using) and yogurt or milk. Blend. If your fruit is very sweet, omit the honey. Depending on how thick you want your smoothie, use more or less banana, or you could also add some oats.
  2. Pour the mixture into a cute bowl and top with chopped peach, strawberries, a crushed biscuit or cookie and pecan nuts.
  3. Sit down and enjoy!
